Good wood

James has been developing his woodworking skills lately, and I couldn't be happier about it! Maybe you saw his handmade birdhouses featured in the Habitat section of The West last week? We headed out to the Balcatta Salvage Yard yesterday with the ute and returned with a huge haul of magnificent old wood in all kinds of shapes, sizes and hues, and I'm looking forward to seeing what it becomes.

It's possible I'm getting a little ahead of myself, but here are just a few little things I'd like him to whip up for me when he gets a chance :)

    1. You've mentioned the Balcatta Salvage Yard before, it sounds great! I've looked for it on google but couldn't find it. Do you have the address?

    2. Hi, this is it here: http://www.stirling.wa.gov.au/Home/Services/Recycling+and+Rubbish/Recycling+Centre+Balcatta.htm

We've found the odd bit of good furniture, bric a brac etc there, but mostly it's good for supplies or furniture that needs a fair bit of work. Definitely worth checking out!

    3. Hi Anna,

That link doesn't work. Can you tell me what road it's on? Dying to get there but can't find any address for it online at all!
