I'm so excited about this new jewellery line! It comes all the way from Brooklyn (I think maybe I was supposed to live in Brooklyn because everything I love seems to come from there!) and was personally spotted by Eko when she was on holidays there a few months ago. Designer Lila Rice Marshall personally handcrafts each piece to order using a mix of metals like copper, brass, sterling silver and goldfill. The collection explores opposing elements: the masculine and the feminine, organic and industrial, a little bit rough-and-tumble but also refined. Variations in texture, form, and material, such delicate studs textured with snakeprint, combine to create a collection that is both delicate and edgy.
I shot these photos with Eko over the weekend (who better to model the line than the girl who discovered it for me...and didn't she do a great job?) and put together this display in the shop yesterday - I wanted something a bit more urban and edgy for this collection, so I cut up a bunch of pieces of foam I had lying around and covered them in printouts of a brick wall image. I was really happy with how it turned out, and think - although very different - it combines well with the Marjorie Victor collection underneath.
I'm just in the process of putting all the pieces up in the online store - there are rings, bangles, necklaces, earrings and studs - so check back tomorrow (if you type "round" into the search bar it will bring up all the pieces or there will be links from the home page) or take a look next time you're in the store.
